Get your site or webpage into Google is not much harder now days; you don't need to go and add your site into Google every time. What you need to do is make your site or webpage & send it online so automatically Google will find your site and its robots will crawl your pages, and Google will add your site into its database. If your site got less pages them it’s easy for Google to index all pages of your site at a time, and if your website got lot pages then Google's robot takes a time to index all the pages of your website.
In your website pages you can use title and meta tags but still it requires a good time to get top rank into any Google search because there are lot of competitors for you and your website and also everybody are trying to get into top. Sitemap would be in XML format which your need to upload in to your website pages, sitemap is very important part of your website and from which Google's server will come to know all the content and info about your website structure. After uploading sitemap page when Google's robot come and crawl next tine your site then it will have all the info about your website and can crawl deeper pages also. Google is very big search engine so it have some problems also and one more problem is that it categories your site according to the domain so if your site has lots of sub domain then make sitemap for each and every sub domain , this makes easy to focus on your main domain for Google.
